Referral mechanism and points

Every RealFi user is issued a unique, auto-generated referral link the moment they connect their wallet. The link is permanent and cannot be changed, and the friend who joins through it is permanently paired to that referrer; this pairing cannot be overwritten, and self-referrals or circular referral loops are not permitted. In order to be attributed as a referral, a user must make their initial connection to the RealFi dApp via a referral link; referrals are not possible for wallets that have already connected to the RealFi dApp.

How the referral bonus works​

When a referred user earns points, their referrer earns a bonus calculated as 10% of that user’s daily points. This bonus flows upstream through the referral chain at a diminishing rate: a grand-referrer earns 10% of the 10% earned by their referrer, and so on up the chain. The bonus is only minted once the referred user’s points balance reaches at least 5,000 points across all activities. These bonus points are newly minted by the protocol rather than deducted from the referred user’s balance, so referring does not reduce the rewards earned by the person being referred.

Testnet referral limits​

During the Testnet, referral rewards are capped to reflect the fact that Testnet points carry no real-world value. A user earns bonuses from only their first 5 direct referrals, determined by the timestamp of the referral link’s use; referrals beyond the fifth are still recorded and linked in the database but generate no bonus points for the referrer during the Testnet period.

Points earned through Testnet referrals are not automatically final. They vest only once the referring wallet holds at least 100 USDr or sUSDr during our mainnet launch phase, with Testnet and Mainnet wallets needing to be linked via an on-chain, dual-signature message.

Mainnet Season 1​

Once Mainnet launches, the 5-referral cap is removed. Referral links established during the Testnet, including those beyond the first 5, automatically become eligible for rewards based on Mainnet activity, and the 10% bonus applies to an unlimited number of direct and indirect referrals during the first Mainnet Season. Referral bonuses stop accruing after that first Mainnet Season concludes.
